At BearStudio, Expo has become a central part of our mobile workflow. It was an obvious choice — and the official recommendation from the React Native team only confirmed what we had already experienced firsthand.
What Expo concretely changes is the time spent on setup. Where we used to install and configure each tool individually — sometimes differently for each platform — Expo provides a ready-to-use environment. Less time on plumbing, more time on the product.
The real game-changer is delivery. Before Expo, shipping a new version could take several days and a fair amount of friction. Today, thanks to EAS, we go from a few hours to sometimes much less, without major hiccups. Expo Go lets us centralize test builds in a single app, rather than juggling between stores. And with an ecosystem of compatible libraries that covers the vast majority of our needs, cases where we have to step outside the framework have become rare.
